Looking Back

If you are new to our church family then these ‘Looking Back’ archives will give you a better understanding of the types of community outreach events, family-fun socials and ministry services we have done in the last few years.

We enjoy being together and helping others in our community.

In September 2017, Senior Pastor Jon Privett, his wife Cathleen and daughter Emily followed the call to serve in the Tempe Church of the Nazarene in Tempe, Arizona.

In November 2016, we packed and mailed over 120 boxes in support of Operation Christmas Child sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse. This was a local Nazarene Mission International ministry to help others.

On a cool November day and very cold December day our church body helped split, load and deliver 31 loads of firewood to our neighbors in Baker County. As a sponsored event with the Northeast Oregon Compassionate Center, it helped many familis stay warm this winter.

Summer Youth Camp at Trinity Pines with Pastor Zac Ellis and 7 rowdy teenagers!

Trap shooting is fun, but Trap Shooting with friends from church is even better. On a Saturday afternoon, a group from church headed out for some friendly competition. We had a combination of avid sportsmen and some in need of a refresher course. Even 6 year old Andy got to shoot a few. After a few shots to warm up and the game was on. First place for the woman’s went to Betty Spooner, second Deidra Richards, and Sheralee Bell got third. For the men, first place was Pastor Lennie Spooner, and second was Tom Van Diepen. A shoot off between Dan Garrick and Grant Ermovick determined third place. With the fastest double shot, Grant was the winner. Another round of targets and two rounds of ‘Annie Oakley’ finished off the day’s competition. The battle wounds (bruises and soreness) were well worth it. It was a good day.

On a hot August day in 2014, a brave group ran the mighty (and cold) Powder River on Family ‘Tube the River’ Day.

The Work and Witness trip in Spring 2012 was to Neyba, Dominican Republic to help build the second floor of the church, and feeding center for the children of the community.

Our Youth Mission Trip in 2009 was to help communities in Louisiana that were impacted by Hurricane Katrina.
