Service starts at 10am and is completely free. Bring a friend, something cool to drink while we worship together, and a lawn chair to sit in.

Summer Sermon Series: Embracing Exile

Exile can be a frightening prospect.Like the Israelites in Babylon, Christians today may feel they are in unfamiliar territory, surrounded by a culture with customs and practices foreign to their faith. In these times of dislocation and powerlessness, God wants to help his people experience anew the possibilities of covenantal faithfulness. In Embracing Exile, T. Scott Daniels invites the church to embrace this modern time of ’exile’ and to seize this unique opportunity to be a blessing to the culture around us.

Join us during June and July for this series called “Embracing Exile”.  Pastor Troy Teeter will be leading us through this series and further discussion on Wednesday evenings. You can purchase the book for further study and thought for $7 through the church office, or on the Amazon Kindle ($9.99).

Women’s Bible Study – Sermon on the Mount

Join us for a great time of fellowship and diving into God’s word. We meet every Wednesday from 1:30p-3:30p in the Fellowship Hall On June 6th we will begin a new series entitled Sermon on the Mount by Jen Wilkin:

What does it mean to be a citizen of the kingdom of Heaven? The Sermon on the Mount articulates what the life of a Christ follower should look like, asking us the same questions it posed to its original hearers: How should a disciple relate to sin? To others? To the Law? How does a disciple think, speak, and act? In this 9-session study, examine the words of Jesus in-depth as He challenges us to think differently about repentance, salvation, and sanctification.

Have questions? Feel free to contact the church office.

Senior Pastor Accepted! – Dec. 17

Troy-Kimberly

On Sunday December 17th we learned that Pastor Troy Teeter accepted the calling to be the senior pastor for our church!

We are very excited to have him and Kim coming to Baker City in January and getting settled into the community.

The Church Board wants to thank all of you for your prayers concerning this important decision for our church family.

From Pastor Troy’s Facebook on 12/17/2017.

“Well, the news is out and we are excited to share that Kim and I have accepted the senior pastorate of Baker City, Oregon Church of the Nazarene.

While we are extremely excited for this new part of our journey, we are sad to be leaving what has truly become a home for us in Aurora with many friends that we count as family. So many emotions, but God is faithful and continues to sustain us and gives us peace.”

Annual Serve Day – Dec. 3

On December 3rd we will again be serving others in our community by delivering firewood to those in need.

Join us at 2 pm behind the Family Life Center and be ready to work. Since you will be hungry  after all of the loading, delivering and unloading wood, some generous folks will have a hot soup and bread meal waiting for us at 3:30.

Good items to bring include: warm clothes, leather gloves, and if possible a pickup truck to help with the deliveries.
